Summary Information
Sites that do not have access to sewer are required to provide onsite effluent disposal. A number of considerations must be applied such as; the suitability of the site (gradient, soil, water table, rock outcrops, land size, water bodies etc); the proposed use of the site and number of persons; and the application of policy such as the government sewerage policy. Note: the sewerage policies and legislation are currently under review.
