11.6 Food Safety Programs
Summary Information
Food businesses that provide food for vulnerable persons are required to have a Food Safety Program in accordance with Standard 3.3.1 of the Food Standards Code. The specific requirements of Food Safety Programs are covered in Standard 3.2.1 of the Code.
Food Safety Programs must be verified by the Local Government and audited by an approved auditor. Within 21 days of the audit being completed it will be provided to the local government; it is then the responsibility of the EHO to ensure any non-compliances identified in the audit are closed out.
