11.4 Food Premises Enforcement Options

Summary Information

Enforcement considerations may depend on Local Government Policy and the severity of the offence. In order to have clear, consistent and transparent enforcement provisions it is recommended that an enforcement and compliance policy is in place and has been adopted by The Local Government. Compliance and enforcement options taken may include; verbal warnings, written warnings infringement notices, improvement notices, prohibition orders or prosecution.
